When an individual runs for a seat in the House of Representatives, they are running to serve the people of their district for two years, not until they become frustrated. It is a self-absorbed individual who will make a commitment to people and then break that commitment for selfish reasons.
When a person is elected to congress, they are telling their constituents they understand the term is for two years. They are telling their constituents that they will serve those two years. They are not promising that they will run for office again, that decision can be made later, and the constituents will decide if they want that individual to represent them by voting for or against them. Kevin McCarthy resigned from the House after he was removed from the Speaker’s position because he again betrayed the American people and allowed the Democrats to have no limitations on spending. He proved how self-absorbed he truly is and proved it was the correct decision to remove him. Now we have Ken Buck resigning after he had announced he would not run for office again in November. Buck proved how self-absorbed he is when he said his reason for resigning is, “I’m leaving because I think there’s a job to do out there, this place has just devolved into this bickering and nonsense and not really doing the job for the American people.” Anybody who would count on Buck to do that so called “job out there” had better understand that Buck is not the person to do it because Buck is a self-absorbed quitter.
