THESE ARE THE TIMES

Thomas Paine wrote, “These are-the-times-that-try-men’s-souls. The-summer-soldier-and-the-sunshine-patriot-will-in-this-crisis-shrink-from-the-service-of-their-country-but-he-that-stands-by-it-now-deserves-the-love-and-thanks-of-man-and-woman. Tyranny-like-hell-is-not-easily-conquered-yet-we-have-this-consolation-with-us-that-the-harder-the-conflict-the-more-glorious-the-triumph-what-we-obtain-too-cheap-we-esteem-too-lightly-it-is-dearness-only-that-gives-every-thing-its-value-heaven-knows-how-to-put-a-proper-price-upon-its-goods-and-it-would-be-strange-indeed-if-so-celestial-an-article-as-freedom-should-not-be-highly-rated.”
Thomas Paine wrote the Crisis when the war for individual liberty and freedom was at a crisis point. This was in December of 1776. It was after George Washington ordered that the Crisis be read to his soldiers on Christmas Day of 1776 that the cold, tired, and hungry soldiers determined they would stand it now. The result was a great victory at the battle in Trenton, New Jersey.
Our Republic is in great peril today. If we lose this battle, tyranny will reign in our nation. The battle today is to replace our Republic, a form of government where the law is the Supreme Ruler of the Land, with a democracy where the whim and wishes of the majority of some body determines how people must live their lives, choices they must make, and thoughts they can have and how they can express those thoughts. Lenin told us that democracy is indispensable to socialism, and socialism is the gateway to communism.
If you want you and your posterity to live in a nation where individual liberty and freedom reigns supreme, you must understand how a republic differs from a democracy, why our founders gave us a Constitutional Republic, and then determine if you will be a summer soldier or a sunshine patriot, or will you determine to stand it now like those soldiers that Christmas of 1776.
What does it mean to “stand it now?” You must, as Thomas Jefferson told us, “be an interested, informed, and involved citizen.” You must become involved by being a wise voter, by being a participant in all aspects of our government, and by learning how to be about “Setting Brushfires of Freedom.”
Understand that tyranny like Hell is not easily conquered. We must always be actively opposing the forces of both. Tyranny and Hell are brothers. Tyranny always uses the evils of hell to bring about the forces of tyranny. The forces of hell are rising in our society this very day. We see it in our Congress, in our bureaucracy, in our states, in our schools, in our churches, and in our media and entertainment.
To “stand it now” you will oppose the indoctrination, the propaganda, and the intimidation that is being used by the left to take away your freedom and dictate to you how you must live your life, choices you must make, and thoughts you can have and how you can express those thoughts.
Never forget, that God also opposes the evils of Hell. The Holly Spirit is always available to be with you. Seek the Holly Spirt as you “stand it now” to overcome the evils of Hell and the forces of tyranny.
