We who have lived in the United States for a good number of years came to expect that those we call Americans favor the protection of individual liberty and freedom, that we favor equal opportunity but your results depend on what you do with your opportunity, that we are taught to read, to write, to do math, but not what to think but how to think, that we not only have a right but a need to question anything our government does, and that we should expect at least an attempt to be honest by our politicians and by our media.
Because this was mostly true, we learned to respect other people for their efforts and for their thoughts. We did not hate them, nor did we want them imprisoned because they thought differently from us, because they questioned the actions of the government, or because they objected to what their school board was doing. We would cheer for the underdog so long as the underdog played by the rules, but when the underdog believed they had the right to destroy the property and liberties of others, we would withdraw our cheers. We lived in a way we believed was the American way; that is, we respected and encouraged peaceful contrarian views and the expression there of, but also understood that the respect for our views and respect for our property and rights would also exist. We Americans also understood in a society where we are free to, encouraged to think for ourselves, there would exist radical, illogical, and yes even incoherent thought and expression. We Americans never envisioned a time when those of us who disagreed with this radical, illogical, and incoherent thought would be ostracized and demonized, even arrested and imprisoned for expressing our disagreement. We certainly never believed we would be labeled a domestic terrorist and treated as such by the government that was instituted to protect that very right to think for ourselves and disagree with others, including our government. What is happening in the United States today, would be the elimination and abolishment of all we thought was American. In today’s America, achievers are ridiculed. Speech that is contrary to what is known as the “woke movement” is censored. Speaking against the “woke” agenda in school board meetings will make you a domestic terrorist and the Department of Justice will have you arrested. Voicing what is no longer an opinion but what is based on evidence and fact, that is that the 2020 election was fraudulent and is a stolen election, will have you placed in jail, in solitary confinement and all of your Constitutional protected rights of “due process” will be ignored. Stating the obvious that the sex of an individual is not changed just because the person declares it to be so, or that males competing against females in sports is not fair, will have you censored, arrested, and fined and or placed in prison. We Americans never thought we would see the time when we would be prohibited from protecting the life of an unborn child, but would be told that murder was really a choice or health care. We Americans never thought we would see the time when the government believed they had the authority or the right to demand we denounce our Biblical held beliefs and honor the abomination of things such as homosexual unions. We Americans never thought we would see the time when elected officials, fraudulently or otherwise, would advocate for tyranny in our land over individual liberty and freedom that is a defining principle of our Constitutional Republic. We Americans never thought we would see the time when it was ruled by the Supreme Court of the United States that principles and values of the Bible and the United States Constitution were unconstitutional. Yet all of what we Americans never thought would happen is happening. This is of great concern. We have real reason to believe that the individual freedom and liberty we learned was the American way is being replaced with tyrannical bureaucratic government and told that this is really freedom because it is for the greater good. I have concern that all that I hold dear as an American will disappear. The American Constitution, the limitation of government, rule of law, the protection of the rights endowed upon us by our Creator, we already see in our rear-view mirror. I am concerned that my children and my grandchildren, will be forced under threat of even death, that they must conform to the dictates of the almighty bureaucratic government. That they will live in a time where all elections are determined by the counters and not the voters, just as was done in 2020. I am concerned that all who hold dear to the teachings of the Bible will suffer even more ridicule and persecution, even death unless they denounce their beliefs. These are all reasons for great concern, BUT they are not reason to fear. We have the promise that is the Bible, that is the Gospel, that our live on earth is temporary, and that because Jesus died on the cross and took upon himself all of our sins, and because Jesus is not dead but rose from the grave, we can be assured that he will never leave us nor forsake us and that we can live with him in heaven for eternity. For us who know Jesus is our Lord and Savior, the concerns here on earth are temporary, but the assurance of salvation is eternal. How great it is to go to bed at night, to wake in the morning, knowing that these concerns are temporary, but my salvation is eternal.
