These multi-candidate television fiascos have lost any value they might have had. I tried to watch the “debate”, but found it very difficult. I have read reviews on so-called winners and losers, and would you believe those who had favored one candidate prior to the debate thought they won. Those who opposed a candidate prior to the debate thought they lost.
Those who explained their reasons thought the winner had great zingers, and the losers were zinged. A person’s ability to zing has nothing to do with whether that person would be a good or bad president. So, the conclusion can only be that those who watched the debate were losers because they wasted two hours of time. I was one of these losers. Those who put on the debate were losers for a lot of reasons. Two of those reasons would be they had absolutely no control and their questions were leading questions. MacCallum and Baird proved they are far more comfortable with Ryan’s Fox News than they were with Ailes Fox News. When we vote for a person for president because they can shout louder than another person like a Christie, or because they are more pompous than are others like Pence, our political system is keeping pace with our crime prevention levels in Democrat run cities or the scores of school children in Democrat run cities. These multi-candidate debates have outlived any usefulness they might have had. So, you say, and you should, Don what would be a better format. The one on one with Tucker and Trump was excellent. Each candidate should do a one on one with Tucker. Tucker is fair and direct and does not ask leading questions. Another format would be a town hall meeting with one candidate present at a time. No moderator would be present. People would ask the candidate a question and the candidate would give an answer. Yes, I know, there would be people that would ask very difficult questions. That would be good. The overwhelming conclusion is that the multi-candidate debate has outlived any usefulness it ever had, if it ever had any. The new formats would remove the rehearsed lines, the zingers, and the shouting. It would be a format where candidates would be able to express their beliefs and agendas. Isn’t that what we really want?
