The NY Times, like the rest of the legacy media, are fixated on the Senate impeachment trial as they try to explain, rationalize, and support House impeachment managers presentation of their case. The latest attempt at cheerleading involved Adam Schiff’s spinning of the President’s public statements as “proof” of his underlying intentions in his alleged coercion of Ukrainian President Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. This article by Peter Baker attempts to explain Schiff’s strategy in this regard while ignoring some basic truths about our president:
The strategy seeks to capitalize on Mr. Trump’s astonishingly unfiltered approach to politics, which has led him again and again to say openly what other presidents with more of an understanding of the traditional red lines of Washington — or at least more of an instinct for political self-preservation — would never say in front of a camera. In effect, the managers are challenging the president’s own penchant for announcing his motivations without apparent regard for whether it could get him into trouble. At the same time, the managers are challenging the senators to take Mr. Trump at his word about what really drove him to pressure Ukraine to announce investigations into Mr. Biden and other Democrats. Note that first paragraph. Baker recognizes that President Trump uses an “unfiltered approach to politics” but fails to understand the reason and the intent of the President. As a member of the chattering class, Baker has been conditioned to expect politicians – particularly US presidents – to act a certain way within the bounds of what the political class has brainwashed people to believe as proper decorum. That means conveying an air of gentility and courtesy in public, equivocation in public speaking to avoid divulging private thoughts about opponents, making vague promises that are never delivered upon, and turning the other cheek when attacked by Democrats and the media. President Trump has turned all of those expectations on their heads over the past several years, as he speaks in a brusque and direct manner, openly and publicly counterattacks when attacked by opponents, tells us what he is really thinking, makes and keeps his promises, and uses his public statements as part of his political strategy in raising public awareness on matters that the legacy media refuse to cover as they serve the Democrat narratives. Baker and others simply don’t understand that the President’s blunt-speaking manner is the President’s purposeful and highly effective political strategy for communicating to the American people. And this is the reason for the coup (impeachment) and for the outright hatred of President Trump. President Trump is not of the political class. Some would call this, President Trump is a bull in a china shop. President Trump does not understand, nor does he respect the double talk that is the Washington swamp. It is for this very reason that he was elected to be President of the United States. What this Washington decorum and double talk has enabled the swamp to accomplish is to make themselves wealthy and to believe they are above the law even to where Joe Biden believes he is beyond any type of investigation or even scrutiny. Unfortunately, Biden is not alone, but only one of very many with this same attitude. It is this political swamp talk that has led these swamp dwellers to believe that they should be believed no matter what they say. Comments without context, misleading innuendo, and outright lies are just fine so long as it benefits you and your side has been the normal practice. President Trump does not understand this type of political nonsense and calls out those who use this practice. It has been said by many members of the swamp that President Trump is not presidential. Of course, the term presidential is a very subjective term, but what we now understand presidential to mean is an individual occupying the Oval Office who speaks in politically correct terms and does only what the swamp believes he should do. The swamp is telling us for instance that it is not presidential to attend a “March for Life Rally” even though you strongly support the right to life. We are being told it is not presidential when you fire an ambassador that adamantly opposes you and your policies. The presidential thing to do is to apparently orchestrate an uprising and have the ambassador killed. We are being told that it is not presidential to defend yourself against angry and distorted statements and accusations, even though there is nothing to support them. We are being told it is not presidential to want to investigate actions by members of the political class and swamp whose actions lead any rational person to believe that corruption is taking place such as a kid of a high official who has just been kicked out of the Navy for drug use and then within three months is hired by a known corrupt energy company in a country notorious for corruption, even though this drug user knows nothing about energy. Anybody who believes in freedom and liberty, should strongly support this president who refuses to conform to the demands of the swamp and has the strength and the fortitude to oppose and expose this swamp that has only one goal, and that is to enrich themselves at the expense of the American people. Even if you call yourself a Democrat, it is still for you that President Trump is willing to absorb the lies and abuse of the swamp dwellers and continue to be a non-presidential president that places the good of the American people above the swamp creatures being enriched. THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP
