A politician will make a pledge to gain what they want, but when it is no longer convenient will discard that pledge. We see it when we hear the pledge to be frugal with our money. We are promised by the politicians that the national debt is a threat to our nation, but they spend more and more and give more and more money to foreign entities. You get the idea.
And now we have Nikki Hayley, who has claimed she is trustworthy. What we learn is that she is trustworthy until it is no longer convenient. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said she does not feel bound by the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) pledge to support the party’s eventual nominee. NBC’s Kristen Welker asked Haley in an interview for “Meet the Press” whether she still feels obligated to honor the RNC pledge she took last year to support the party’s nominee. The pledge was one of the requirements candidates needed to see to make it on the debate stage. “I have always said that I have serious concerns about Donald Trump. I have even more concerns about Joe Biden,” Haley first responded. When pressed further on whether she feels bound by the pledge, Haley suggested that she just took the pledge to get on the debate stage. “The RNC pledge —I mean, at the time of the debate, we had to take it to where, ‘Would you support the nominee,’ and in order to get on that debate stage, you said yes. The RNC is now not the same RNC,” she responded before Welker pushed her again on the topic. Her husband is no longer the same person she made a promise to the day she married him. He is no older, hopefully wiser, and looks different. Nikki, you blew it again.
