9/5/2018 NIKE CERTAINLY HAS A RIGHT TO HIRE KAEPERNICK – THE PUBLIC HAS A RIGHT TO MAKE THEIR CHOICERead NowNike is a private company. Nike can hire the people they wish to hire. The public has the right to choose as well. The public can determine if they wish to purchase Nike products for whatever reason they determine. If the public determines they do not wish to purchase Nike products because of their affiliation with Kaepernick, that is a result of a choice Nike made and Nike must live with the consequences of their decisions.
This is no different from the NFL owners determining they will allow their employees to disrespect what many Americans hold sacred. It is a choice the NFL owners have made, and they must live with the consequences of their decisions. What I find disturbing in these incidents is the perception put forth by many of those who are praising both the NFL owners and Nike for their actions. These people would have us believe that, what I would consider to be misguided motives are in the interest of something called social injustice. Social justice and social injustice, in today’s political arena, have come to have no meaning at all. Social justice and social injustice have come to have no specific meaning just as the Constitution of the United States has come to have no meaning to the same people who tend to support the actions of the NFL owners and Nike. I have heard naïve people explain that the actions of the NFL owners and Nike are in support of some sort of fairness and freedom. The foolishness of these assertions is that the originator of these social justice protests, Kaepernick, is an advocate for all that suppresses fairness and freedom. Kaepernick has publicly stated that he supports the proponents of those who have followed the doctrines put forth by Karl Marx. The doctrines of Karl Marx specifically denounce fairness and freedom. Marx specifically states that only one class of people should exist and all others should be eliminated. The doctrine of Marxism advocates complete and total conformity to only one way of thought. What Kaepernick has stated as social injustice is exactly the opposite. What Kaepernick is protesting is the very system that protects his right to voice his nonconforming views. If Kaepernick was living in the type of system he openly supports, his right to voice his viewpoints would be subjected to approval by the then tyrant in control of determining what was or was not appropriate. Those of you who advocate the same principles and policies advocated by Kaepernick must realize what in fact Kaepernick purports. He is in fact advocating that to bring about his ideas of social justice, the rights of all those who disagree with him are to be subverted. He is denouncing the very system that can only exist when all people, including himself, have the freedom to voice their ideas and opinions. We who support the very system that allows Kaepernick his freedom, the very system the allows all people to voice their opinions even if they are not the same opinions held by Kaepernick, must understand the consequences of our choices; freedom for all. Kaepernick and his supporters must also understand the consequences of their choices; freedom for only those granted freedom so long as what they support conforms to the ideas of those granting freedoms.
