I was in a hotel in Gainesville, Florida the morning of September 11, 2001 watching the morning news. The story was that a plane had flown into one of the towers of the World Trade Center and nobody was sure if this was intentional or some form of an accident. While the discussion was taking place, you could see flames coming from the tower. While watching the flames and listening to the discussion, we who were watching, saw another plane fly into the other tower. No longer was the discussion questioning the accident idea, but the discussion was now who orchestrated the attack.
Within a short period we were informed that all planes had been ordered to land. We also learned that there were at least two other planes that were presumably hijacked and now the speculation was what were their targets. We learned that one of the targets was the Pentagon. The other plane crashed in Pennsylvania. The United States had been attacked and all planes were grounded. I remember finally getting on a plane several days later. My route home took me through Atlanta and then into Los Angeles. I had been through Atlanta many times before. Never had I seen the airport so empty. Our plane seemed to be the only plane landing at the time. When we landed in Los Angeles it was the same situation, empty runways and empty airports. As events unfolded we learned that the United States had been attacked by a known enemy. That same enemy had try to take down the World Trade Center about eight years earlier. When the people were caught who had attempted the bombing, America considered these war criminals to be civilian criminals and the individuals were tried in our courts and they were granted all the constitutional protections an American citizen would be given. These same people have declared war on the United States and all peoples living in nations that do not adhere to their Islamic dictates. These same people have perpetrated attacks through out the United States and other non-Islamic nations. Still today, Islamic Jihadists are welcomed into non-Islamic countries, given benefits as if they were citizens, and continue to attack our western civilization while refusing to assimilate. We have been told that these terrorists are not happy because we do not love them enough. These Islamic Jihadists are not necessarily unhappy. They hate anything and everything that is non-Islamic. It is there sworn duty to destroy us and put all people under Islamic control. Any individual who refuses will be killed. This is what they believe and what their children are taught. That morning 17 years ago proved to me the Islamic Jihadist is serious about their threats and their claims. We are seeing the results through out the world, most predominantly in Western Europe. Yet, foolish people defend these people and still believe we must love them more, so they will denounce their evil ways and their hate. The more we defend them the more they will destroy us. This is reality. We know attacks are being planned on a continuous basis. War has been declared. Those of us who understand the danger of Islamic Jihadists are being called the enemy. Those who bury their heads in the sand are guilty of aiding the enemy. History shows those who advocate the policies being advocated by the left today; that is to defend and encourage the enemy in hope that the enemy will recognize the love and change their declared intentions and goals, have always been proven to be wrong. We must learn from history and fight this war with determination, otherwise we will be fighting to escape from Sharia Law as the Law of the land.
