4/13/2020 AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACT SHOULD NOT BE ADVOCATED FOR ANY REASON MUCH LESS POLITICAL REASONSRead NowIf a presidential order violates the Constitution, it is an unconstitutional order regardless of whether or not we agree with the order or the political party to which the president belongs. This is exactly what George Washington feared when he warned us about the dangers of political parties and members of such parties placing the party above the country.
THE DANGER OF POLITICAL PARTIES TO OUR NATION PER THE WARNING BY GEORGE WASHINGTON APPLIES TO BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE. It is our duty to not apply a double standard. Yes, I know the left would have no standards if it were not for double standards, but that does not excuse us on the correct side of the aisle to live by those same dishonest standards. We condemn the left when they apply the standard that all women should be believed in the case of Kavanaugh but not in the case of Biden. It is my position, and I hope all Freedom Loving Americans position, that we do not support unconstitutional orders because it is damaging to the nation and further erodes the Constitution. On Facebook I responded to a post by a true Freedom Loving American who posted that President Trump should sign an executive order mandating voter ID, and asked how many agreed with him. I responded that I did not agree with him. “Don Jans No, I do not believe he has the power to do so and it would drive another nail into the coffin of the Constitution. Clause 1: Time, place, and manner of holding The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing [sic] Senators.🤓” He replied, “Don Jans where does it state ID or no ID?” I wrote back with this response, “Don Jans The Constitution does not mention voter ID that I can find but, it does talks about which branch has authority for elections and it does not give any authority over elections to the Executive Branch. I would think if President Trump just signed an ID executive order it would be as unconstitutional as it was for Obama to sign DACA. The executive has no authority over immigration either unless congress gives it to them, which it did not so far as DACA was concerned. Unconstitutional is unconstitutional no matter the subject or the party. 🤓” He replied, “Don Jans Got it. Thanks!” But then, what has become far to common, another individual responded, in a manner that has become far to prevalent from both sides of the isle, by not contributing to the conversation with a meaningful response. Their response did not refer to the Constitution and the constitutionality of the act, but only responded in a dogmatic and accusatory manner. The saddest part is that this individual will probably claim they support the Constitution and freedom and liberty, but are in truth advocating for a dictatorship. Tyranny is tyranny. Their reply, “Don Jans don’t know what your talking about. Already being done in many area all he has to do is write an executive order. You must be one of those democrats trying to ruin our country.” Please my Freedom Loving Americans, do not resort to these tactics. They are as damaging to our Republic coming from the left as they are coming from you. If we are to remain a free and independent nation, we cannot destroy our Constitution just for political gain. It is the individual that responded in such a manner that needs a Freedom Loving American to set a brushfire of freedom in the mind of that American.
