Media has never fulfilled its defined function of informing the public. We hear in all circles today the media is pro this or pro that. When we look at history, the media has always been pro something and has slanted their reporting accordingly. Yet, it is critical to a free society that a free media is maintained. Government should never be allowed to define what is or is not fair reporting, what is mis or disinformation, or regulate reporting. That is the job of a discerning public.
In our headlines in the United States, we read what some actor, sports icon, opinion media personality, or publicity seeker has said. There opinions are a product of a prejudiced media. Very seldom are their opinions seeped in a deep study of history, facts, and reality. We see in most of the media, the description of conservatives as being far right wing or extreme, while progressives are mainstream. As in all labeling, the defining adjective is based on opinion and perspective. Throughout history, the political spectrums have been based on individualism or collectivism. The individualist has proclaimed that we are all individuals with different dreams, abilities, and desires. The role of government is to protect the liberties of the individual, so they are free to strive and achieve. Each individual must be free to live their life, make their choices, and have their own thoughts and be free to express. The collectivist has believed that the individual is only a clog in the collective, that each individual must strive for what is declared to be for the greater good of the community, that each individual is dispensable, and that each individual must live their life as determined by the collective, must adhere to the choices made for them by the collective, and must think and express only within the confines set by the collective. The collectivist mentality dominated throughout much of history, with a few exceptions, until the early 16th century. Marin Luther said each individual must read the Bible for themselves. He said each individual receives the gift of salvation based on their individual relationship with Christ. Martin Luther revealed the teachings of the Bible to a world that had been told that salvation came through their adhering to the declarations of the collectivist dominated Catholic Church hierarchy. This led to the American Revolution. The American Revolution was a result of the message that came from the pulpit. People came to the American colonies because they sought freedom from the control of the collectivists in government. The American colonists sought to be free to worship God, they sought to be free from political persecution, they sought to be free from limitations on their dreams and desires due to their position at birth, yes, they came to the American colonies so they could be individuals free to live their own lives, free to make their own choices, and free to have their own thoughts. The individualist vs collectivist movement was not extinguished with the victory by Washington over Cornwallis at Yorktown. For a time, individualism did prevail even through 1787 when a Constitution was written that declared the new country called the United States of America to be a republic where the forces of collectivism were limited by placing specific limitations on the power of government and where the liberties of the people could not be abridged or infringed much less eliminated. Throughout the world, the days of the 20th century and very early 21st century brought a renewed effort of the collectivists to bring all individuals once again under the dominance of centralized government dictating how each individual must live their life, choices they must make, and how they could think. Europe has been dominated by a more and more dictatorial European Union. The United States has been dominated by a more and more dictatorial central government. The people are more and more saying no to collectivism. Because the media overwhelmingly supports the collectivist movement, the discerning individual must search to learn whether the collectivist or the individualist movement is gaining support. The opposition to the European Union began several years ago and was mostly centered in Poland and Hungary. Then we saw the United Kingdom reject the EU. We have seen overwhelming votes in Sweden and now Italy rejecting the demand to subjugate individual decisions to the collectivist body in Brussels. We have seen massive demonstrations in France and the Netherlands and indications of unrest in other European nations. In the United States, the people are feeling the devastating results of collectivism. The massive response to the individualist MAGA movement have been downplayed by the collectivist media and the collectivist Democrat party. The collectivists have always adhered to the maxim, “the ends justify the means” and openly and without shame stole the election of 2020. The results of that stolen election placed an incompetent regime in power and put collectivists in control of both the house and the senate. The American sentiment is overwhelmingly that the people want to live their own lives, make their own choices, and think for themselves. This should result in an individualist wave in November. But never underestimate the means the collectivist will employ to achieve their ends. The movement against collectivism is real. The failure of collectivism has been demonstrated time and time again. Europe is on a definite path of rejecting the dominance of a dictatorial European Union. Will the people of the United States overcome the evil of the collectivists and reclaim their right as individuals to live their own lives, make their own choices, and have their own thought? Will the people of the United States seek to learn the truth, or will they follow the opinions of a prejudiced media? Will you sit by and hope for liberty and freedom to be restored or will you become an informed, an interested, and an involved individual and be committed to “Setting Brushfires of Freedom”?
