THE STATE OF THE UNION

The state of the union of the United States is not unlike the state of the union of Judah, especially under King Manasseh and some who followed.  The evil brought to the kingdom of Judah under Manasseh is outlined in 2nd Kings and Chapter 21. This is from the NKJV.
1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.
2 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.
4 He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, "In Jerusalem I will put My name."
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
6 Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.
7 He even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;
False teachings were prevalent. The worship of idols of all kinds dominated. The sacrifice of babies and young children was practiced. Temple prostitution, both male and female, was practiced. Homosexuality was accepted as being natural. Pedophilia was accepted. Men being women and women being men was a part of society.
In 2nd Kings Chapter 23 we read:
34 Then Pharaoh Necho made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in place of his father Josiah, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. And Pharaoh took Jehoahaz and went to Egypt, and he died there.
35 So Jehoiakim gave the silver and gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give money according to the command of Pharaoh; he exacted the silver and gold from the people of the land, from everyone according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaoh Necho.
The state of the union in Judah became one of high taxation with the government demanding the assets of the people. In addition to a society where the worship of God was replaced with the worship of idols, the acceptance of sexually immorality of all kinds or the normality of LGBT, and the killing of babies and children being widely practiced, we now find the government confiscating the assets of its people.
The state of the union of Judah prior to the capture of its people by enemies and complete destruction was like that of the United States. Just as the evil Kings of Judah defended their evil actions, the American left is defending its evil actions and proclaiming the state of our union is good. The state of our union is good only when it is good from the viewpoint of God. When we violate the commands of God, our only possible outcome is that of a failed society.
