THE LEFT MUST UNDERSTAND WHO JESUS IS

Rob Reiner, like so many on the left, try to use the teachings of Jesus without understanding who Jesus is and what his purpose and teachings were. Jesus loved and Jesus healed. He was showing the unexplainable love God has for mankind. Jesus had to come to earth to die for the sins of mankind so that those who accepted the grace of God could be “born again” into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus also understood what his teachings would do and how they would divide because he understood how his truth would divide.
“This movement that they have here seems completely antithetical to the teachings of Jesus,” Reiner said.
“Jesus was about peace and love and helping thy neighbor and those less fortunate than ourselves. And I thought that was something that we should all aspire to. So to me this movement is going totally opposite the teachings of Jesus.”
These are the words of Jesus from Mathew 10 using the New King James Version. This shows the love of God. Verse 32“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”
Jesus continued in Verse 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35For I have come to ‘set[j] a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.”
Reiner does not understand why Jesus came to earth. Christ’s purpose was to go to the cross and be the sacrifice for my sin, your sin, and Reiner’s sin. If Reiner is going to use the teachings of Christ, let him talk about the sins of man and the shedding of Christ’s blood on the cross. That is the reason Jesus came. That was his purpose. Reiner is concerned about the temporary time a person will spend on earth. We are told that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We all deserve eternity separated from God or eternity in Hell. The purpose of Jesus was to provide a way for each of us to spend eternity in the presence of God or in Heaven. If Reiner was truly concerned about his fellow man, he would be talking about the Grace of God and not peace and love.
