Venezuelan president to Congress: Our economic policies have failed, comrades.
Speaking to the Congress of Venezuela’s ruling United Socialist Party, President Maduro admitted that his economic agenda isn’t working out like he had planned. “The production models we’ve tried so far have failed and the responsibility is ours, mine and yours,” Maduro told lawmakers. “Enough with the whining … we need to produce with or without (outside) aggression, with or without blockades, we need to make Venezuela an economic power.” Despite Maduro’s admission that his socialist measures have not been successful, he expressed hope that his agenda would eventually turn the economy around. “I estimate it will take about two years to reach a high level of stability,” he added, “and see the first symptoms of new and economic prosperity, without for one second affecting social security and protection.” These are the policies Maduro believes will restore vitality to a once healthy economy of a once very wealthy nation; the very policies that destroyed that healthy economy and made Venezuela a very poor nation, the very policies the Marxist/Progressives (Democrats) want to bring to the United States. The social government in Venezuela has taken a number of failed measures in attempting to pull the country out of a four-year recession. In the past five years, it has taken over and nationalized entire industries such as steel and cement, used its army to try and control street markets, and employed a number of attempts at currency manipulation. But the measures have backfired — resulting in an inflation crisis that the International Monetary Fund predicts will reach 1,000,000 percent in the country this year. With the largest oil reserves in the world, Venezuela’s crude sales account to roughly 96 percent of the nation’s revenue. But the industry has deteriorated so much since the government took over, that the country has even considered importing oil to refine in an attempt to fulfill the contracts of the state-run oil company PDVSA. Bernie Sanders and the rest of you Socialists look south to Venezuela an see what government control of business in any form does to an economy. Understand you Socialists that the very things you despise, competition and individuals being rewarded for production and ingenuity as opposed to just existing, brings about prosperity for all. What we are witnessing in Venezuela today is the result of those who believe that the government is the answer. Government is and always has been the enemy of prosperity. Prosperity has always reduced poverty, brought about a high standard of living, and a strong and healthy middle class, the very thing you socialists say you want. If this is truly what the socialists (Democrats) want, then why do they continue to advocate for the very policies that do just the opposite. The socialists (Democrats) advocate for economic destroying policies because they believe they are best at determining how people should live, they believe they are best at determining economic outcomes as opposed to the market, they believe a society that conforms to their way of thinking is stronger and better than a society that believes in individual thought with all viewpoints expressed freely, and the socialist, Marxist/Progressive (Democrat) believes that they should be in power because they are smarter and wiser than the population in general and all will be better if they adhere to the tyranny desired by the socialist, Marxist/Progressive (Democrat) NEVER FORGET, THE SOCIALIST, MARXIST/PROGRESSIVE (DEMOCRAT) HATES FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL AND DESPISES THE VERY FOUNDATION UPON WHICH THE UNITED STATES WAS FOUNDED; INDIVIDUALISM, RULE OF LAW, LIMITED GOVERNMENT, DIVIDED GOVERNMENT, SOVEREIGNTY BY THE PEOPLE.
