The president can be impeached for crimes committed while he was in office. He is exempt from being tried by state or federal courts for actions committed pertaining to his duties as president. To do otherwise would prevent any president from acting.
We have witnessed District Attorneys bring frivolous indictments against Trump and rogue judges allowing the cases to be tried. This, if not stopped by the Supreme Court will become the wave of the future and will render any president ineffective. The actions taken against Trump cannot allowed to continue. If the Supreme Court does not take decisive action and put a halt to these political suits against Trump, the second branch of government will have been made worthless. I am not for a strong executive government, but we have a worthless first branch and a judicial branch that ignores the Constitution and rules for political gain while ignoring the law. Yes, any president must be subject only to the wishes of the House of Representatives, which is the closest to the people, and not to politically ambitious District Attorneys, Federal Prosecutors and rogue judges.
