IF THEY WOULD PRACTICE WHAT HE PREACHED

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.

Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results. Nations have frequently won their independence in battle. But in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace.

What this man taught is the exact opposite of what the movement of Obama, Holder, Sharpton, and Jackson are teaching.  Martin Luther King Jr wanted color of skin to be replaced with content of character.  He would have opposed special treatment because of color of skin.  He taught all be treated as one.  He would have opposed adjectives such as black or African in front of American.  He taught acceptance based on the individual, the content of their character, and not a collective or because they all had the same skin color.
 
If the those who are pushing for a segregated America, Obama, Holder, Sharpton, and Jackson would only practice what Martin Luther King, Jr. believed and preached, they would be poorer and less powerful, but America would be far less segregated.
