HOW DO WE MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

This question can be answered if we look honestly at what made America great in the first place. The founders of our nation were students of government, history, and political philosophy. They concluded that government is naturally tyrannical. Therefore, the power of our government was limited unlike any government had ever been. Our founders understood that democracies are emotional and self-destruct, that autocracies always become tyrannical, and so they formed a republic where the law would be the Supreme Ruler. The founders chose to put our law into writing and we call that document the Constitution of the United States.
Our founders also understood that a republic requires a virtuous people who will elect virtuous people to be the representatives of the people. Honesty and transparency of government would be essential to hold these representatives accountable to the law or the Constitution. Jedidiah Morse put this into context and explained how our system could fail when he said, “To the kindly influence of Christianity, we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys…. Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all blessings which flow from them, must fall with them.”
John Adams told us, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
A common refrain is that only a virtuous people can maintain a republic. We must ask ourselves what is a virtuous people. James Madison said, “Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched situation. No theoretical checks, no form of government, can render us secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea. If there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be exercised in the selection of these men; so that we do not depend upon their virtue, or put confidence in our rulers, but in the people who are to choose them.”
Are we now a virtuous people? Would a virtuous people favor the murder of the unborn and call it choice? Would a virtuous people demonize, ostracize, arrest, and imprison those with whom they have political differences? Would a virtuous people encourage and facilitate illegal voters, votes, and manipulate voting machines to arrive at their desired outcome? Would a virtuous people protect and promote perversions of all kinds including facilitating the grooming of children to be sexual objects? Would a virtuous people open their borders so drug dealers, human traffickers, gang members, and terrorists can enter their country and harm their people? Would a virtuous people overspend for their own power and enjoyment while placing those who follow in financial peril? Would a virtuous people attack those who espouse the Ten Commandments and the teachings of the Bible, while enabling those who would seek to kill and enslave any who did not agree with their teachings, would promote satanic worship, self-worship, and secular worship? Would a virtuous people defend a Crime Family who has gained wealth and power through fraud, blackmail, and influence peddling?
Each of us can continue with this list, but we must ask ourselves, are we a virtuous people, am I a virtuous person?
Jedidiah Morse explained that it was the kindly influence of Christianity that made America great. He explained that when the “pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown” our blessings would fall with them. To become a blessed country once again, we must overthrow the evils that now prevail and return to virtue, to those pillars of Christianity.
