The real question is, which freedom do you want? The left, from way before Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Chavez, Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Comrades Obama, Sanders, Warren, AOC, and on and on have always promised a freedom. Marx said everybody should be free from the obligations of life so they can pursue their dreams. Pelosi told us that now that we had Obamacare, people were free to pursue their dreams because they were free from the obligation of worrying about their health coverage. She did not mention that the quality of care would greatly diminish.
Now we have the darling, AOC, tell us: “We Must Have the Government Control Things, So We Can Be More Free.” Thank you, AOC. You absorbed your indoctrination and just keep on giving and giving. This is exactly the same song and dance all collectivists (Marxists, communists, socialists, progressives, Democrats, - all virtually the same) have sung since the beginning of time. The collectivist has always said that the people are oppressed and are slaves to everybody except government. Therefore, government is the way they can be free. They claim that if government is responsible for making all economic and social decisions for the individual, the individual is free, not only from free the drudgery of making choices in these arenas, but they are also free from the consequences of the decisions. All the individual has to do is to totally conform to the dictates of the government, accept the rewards the government grants to them to supply the necessities for happiness the government determines are sufficient for such necessities, and accept the state as their god, discarding any other. This model has been tried again and again. Many societies have accepted this concept, and once the people said such things as you cannot fight them so we might just as well accept the inevitable, the inevitable happened. People were free from the drudgery of making choices, because there were no choices to be made. All people were in the same economic position, which was poverty, except for the elite who claimed they were entitled because they had assumed the responsibility of making the choices from which they had freed the people from making. This was the freedom promised and it was the freedom delivered. The freedom promised by the conservative is exactly the opposite. This freedom places the "drudgery" of making choices, both social and economic, directly on the individual. It also places the responsibility for the consequences of those choices squarely at the feet of the individual. The freedom is that you can live as an individual. You are free to pursue your dreams. You are free to not only aspire, but to also achieve and accomplish. You are not only free to think for yourself, but you are encouraged to think outside the box and challenge not only yourself, but also society as a whole. You are free to raise your children with your principles and not the conforming dictates of the government. The differences between these freedoms are immense. History has proven that to have freedom from choice, you have a society with a collapsed society, both socially and economically. You have a society that is in a state of despair and destitution. You have a society with no hope or optimism. There is no example where AOC’s ideas have brought about societies where both failures and success existed, where the living standards of the whole population significantly rose, where competition spurred new and sometime miraculous advancements in all areas, where the population in general were vibrant and optimistic believing the only limits they had were those they placed on themselves. The AOC,’s believe freedom is free from responsibility and the challenge of being the individual you are. The Conservatives believe freedom is being free from accepting the results for ourselves that others dictate for us. The AOC’s believe that freedom and happiness are complete conformity to one ideal which is known as collectivism. The Conservative believes all should strive to be the individual they are. The American society is at a crossroads. The choices before us are the freedom from choice and responsibility which requires acceptance to the dictates of the state, or we accept the freedom to make our own choices which requires the acceptance that we are responsible for the consequences of our choices, both positive and negative. IT IS MY PRAYER AND DESIRE THAT WE CHOOSE WISELY. WE KNOW THE RESULTS OF BOTH PATHS.
