BIDEN AND PUTIN

The news outlets are doing all of the pre–World Series, pre–Super Bowl, pre–World Cup, and pre everything talk about the Biden – Putin interaction. I heard Biden in a sound bite explain how tough he would be in the discussions. How these talks will actually go is pretty well determined. They will be similar to the talks that took place between China and the United States in Alaska a few months ago. China told Blinken how horrible the United States was and what China expected from the United States. And then the talks ended.
Biden has already said he would not hold a joint press conference after the talks. To hold a joint press conference after such talks, has been standard operating procedure ever since I can remember.  Biden, or his staff, perhaps both know what a catastrophe that would be. Biden would not be able to have his card to choose the reporter to ask the question that would have been known to Biden’s staff so they could prepare the answer for Biden to read. Putin would be able to make comments and ask questions of Biden in front of the world press.  The outcome of a joint press conference between Biden and Putin would be a replay of the China and United States conference.
Putin has told us in many different ways, in words and by actions, that he has no respect for Biden. Putin made it clear in an interview, he sees Biden as much easier to handle because he is a predictable lifetime professional politician. Putin can be and often times is condescending, especially when he knows he is sparring with an inferior opponent.  The Biden of 10 or 15 years ago was not capable of earning any respect from Putin. The current Biden is absolutely over matched.  Putin is not a compassionate person. He will not treat Biden like a grandfather, but like the incompetent person he is.
No, this will not be pretty. The question is, will the liberal press be able put any positive spin on the situation. They were unable to save Harris in her disaster, and it seems that Biden’s will not be any better, and probably much worse.
