“AOC says there is a 'very real risk' that the nation will not 'have a democracy' a decade from now.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that she thinks there is a possibility that the U.S. will no longer "have a democracy" in a decade. "The infrastructure plan, if it does what it’s intended to do, politicians will take credit for it ten years from now, if we even have a democracy ten years from now," said AOC "I think there’s a very real risk that we will not. What we risk is having a government that perhaps postures as a democracy, and may try to pretend that it is, but isn’t," she said. This is inevitable. The collectivists (Marxists, communists, socialists, progressives, Democrats, - all the same) made a commitment, at least a century ago, to transform the United States from a Constitutional Republic into a democracy. Once the Democrat Party had been infiltrated by communists, which started as early as 1921, the transformation began. In order to complete the transformation, the Bible and the Constitution had to be minimized and eventually eliminated. This process continues. Our founders told us why they refused democracy and instead made us a Constitutional Republic. In our Constitutional Republic it is recognized that our liberties are endowed to us by our Creator and that these liberties are unalienable. Government would protect these rights but could not restrict or abolish any of them. Our Constitutional Republic would also be a nation under “rule of law” with the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. During a 1787 debate, Elbridge Gerry argued that democracy allowed self-interested and malicious men to mislead the masses under the guise of patriotism. He noted: "The evils we experience flow from the excess of democracy. The people do not want virtue, but are the dupes of pretended patriots." John Adams said, "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.” As the debate over democracy raged among the founding fathers, writer, and Doctor Benjamin Rush, argued that democracy was, in fact, evil. He believed that democratic men would do anything to get what they desired; corruption and greed ruled them. Rush noted: "A simple democracy is the devil's own government." Fisher Ames was not a fan of democracy. He believed it was an incredibly dangerous form of government that could give way to precarious factions. The ancient civilizations that tried democracy centuries earlier all crumbled and Ames wanted to avoid that. He said: "A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction. These will produce an eruption and carry desolation in their way." In the 1787 Federalist Paper #10, James Madison wrote that true democracies were susceptible to factions, and that the masses would follow their own passions at the expense of any minority group. Madison wanted the US nation to be more like a republic so that more classes of people could be represented. He believed this diversification would inhibit corruption, noting that: "Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." Democracies are themselves dictatorships, they are dictatorships of the majority over the minority. In our Constitutional Republic, for instance, our first amendment states that NO law can be made to limit speech. In a democracy, the majority can limit or restrict speech of the minority. In our Constitutional Republic, all must be treated equally under the law. In a democracy the majority can restate, make, or eliminate any law to punish their opponents. In a Constitutional Republic, what is happening to the people that have been arrested for what those in power have defined to be an insurgency, could not be happening. These people could not be placed in jail, much less solitary confinement with no charges brought, no court date, and no trial held. In a democracy, it does happen if the majority or those in power so deem it to be appropriate. A democracy operates under “arbitrary law” and not “rule of law”. AOC is correct, our democracy will become a dictatorship, in many ways it already is. Democracies become tyrannical dictatorships as stated by our founders. This is why our founders insisted that the United States would be a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy.
